Wrecking Kids

According to the original site for Furballs -

Furball Village contains a house for each of the Furballs, to which their children will return - and wreak havoc! - as the player rescues them.

Of course, in the final game, only a few babies appear, and they certainly don't wreak havoc. In fact, they don't even return to their homes, save for the ones who offer you a game to play. It's possible this was just misleading info, but hey - It was mentioned early enough in production for it to have been planned.

Mutated Winnie

Early Cutscene

Winnifred goes through the portal to The Bad Place already mutated. In the final game, she goes through as her normal, unmutated self, grasping Frederick in her paws.

Baby Firefox Plushie

Early Chang Baby

In an earlier release of the game, the baby firefox plush in the Nursery of Dinos Upstairs was not holding the Exit sign. This was likely changed to make sure people knew they were heading out of the level as opposed to another room.

Boss Attack Names

Gwynth's Roof Breath Early Saving Gwynth

On the left, boss attacks were going to have names for each of their attacks. For example, Gwynth's fire attack was given the name 'Roof Breath'. There was also a health bar for you to see how well you were doing. This was likely removed for consistency, since regular enemies have never been seen with a health bar. On the right, Tweek's Telepoint is on the field as opposed to in the helicopter.

The Undermill Beaver

Get out.

Beaver placeholder in the Undermill. Not much else to say here.

Furball Village

Furball Village

Early signposts, still using the Furballs name. The name Furball Village is also present in the game demos, despite being officially regarded as Fur Fighters by this point.

Early Crocodile

Frowning Croc

See more images of this early version of the game at the bottom of this page. Here, however, the Crocodile has a noticeable frown.

Early Bungalow Texture, Anatat Foliage

Early Bungalow Early Bungalow Early Rico House Early Bungalow

An early texture for Bungalow, which resembles his concept art. Also, second image shows Anatat Tatanatat's foliage in Fur Fighter Village. It also looks as though the lake is filled in. On the far right, a very early version of Rico's home which appears to be... Empty.

Early Juliette Texture

Early Juliette Early Juliette

Juliette's eyes were originally a rather beautiful sapphire blue. It's a shame they changed it, really. Also, second image shows the open cave seen in the demo.

Early Chang Texture

Early Chang Early Chang Early Chang

Chang's eyes were also a bit different. The pupil looked much smaller. Also, note the early areas here.

Happy Fur Fighters

Happy Rico Happy Juliette Unused Elements Unused Elements Unused Elements Unused Elements

As shown in an early video (seen below), an easy way to see how far along the game is can be seen by the health monitor - The early version features the cast with extremely happy faces, normally seen only when a can of Pet Yums is obtained. Or, as is the case in some of these images, the lack of babies. Also, note that Bungalow, Chang & Juliette all have their early textures here.

Earliest Prototype

These are images from the very first known release of Fur Fighters, mostly taking part in Furry Forest, a level that was removed from all but Viggo's Revenge, and Compound Factions. One image even shows what appears to be the early Exit model (thanks RomyPlays!). Click to enlarge.

The Fluff that Time Forgot - Stone Edition

An early version of The Fluff that Time Forgot, which was presumably changed at the last minute, since all official footage contains this version over the Viggo-Lego (Vego?) blocks. Click to enlarge.

King Solomon's Fluff - Early Version

An early version of King Solomon's Fluff. Not much else to say!

Early Video

There is so much in this video it would be insane to list it all. There are even some unused models, such as the barrel (seen in the Unused models page) still in use. Seen briefly, there even appears to be a quick shot of Furry Forest! Click here to view it all!

Alternate Dinotopolis Cow

An early version of the Dinotopolis Cow, before it was changed to a cardboard cut out.

Early Fur Fighters: Viggo's Revenge Prototype

So early that you can still see many of the old textures showing. Most interestingly, God Machine Valley only has 7 Babies to rescue - Despite being a port of the original game and thus not requiring that level of tweaking, presumably. Also, 10 Babies in Compound Factions? As a random thought, I actually preferred the head icons here.

Early But Later Fur Fighters: Viggo's Revenge Prototype

Another early prototype which fixes the Baby counts. Still some interesting shots, though, with many of the old textures still present. Note the incorrect texture on the weapon's bottom arrow. Some weapons also have a negative ammo amount.

...In fact, there are just SO MANY OF THESE. So: Click here to download all prototype images (both early and late-early) in this handy dandy .rar file. You will need Winrar or a similar program to extract them.

Other Early Images

Mostly default textures and stuff already seen above. Some of these also borrow textures from other levels (such as th3e Cape Canardo one borrowing the button from Beaver Power) or just have the same texture applied everywhere (such as Roofus' Freeze Gun). Perhaps it's just me, but that final image looks like it has a Gold Token stuck in the doorway.
